AN ACT concerning health.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
The Autism Spectrum Disorders Reporting Act is
amended by adding Section 32 as follows:
(410 ILCS 201/32 new)
Reporting; access to applied behavior analysis.
No later than December 31st of each year, the Department of
Healthcare and Family Services shall submit a report to the
General Assembly regarding access to applied behavior analysis
therapy for people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
The report shall include, but is not limited to, the following
(1) The number of Medicaid-enrolled providers in the
State of Illinois certified to provide applied behavior
analysis therapy services, in accordance with
administrative rules and Department of Healthcare and
Family Services policy.
(2) The number of Medicaid-enrolled children in
Illinois with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis and
who receive applied behavior analysis therapy services.
(3) Information concerning the development and public
distribution of low-literacy materials that will inform
