SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gerald Allan Caldwell of Peoria, who
4passed away on December 29, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell was born in Parsons, Kansas to
6Clarence Milton and Mildred Marie (Norrick) Caldwell on July
716, 1948; he attended Kansas University; he married Coleen
8Meier in Roeland Park, Kansas on December 16, 1972; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell worked as a retail sales manager
10for Tandy Leather Company for many years; he also worked as a
11baker for both Le Bakery and Trefzgers; he continued baking
12for the Peoria Bread Company after his retirement; he was
13well-known for his famous cinnamon rolls, which he sold for
14charity during the holidays; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell was actively involved with the
16Boy Scouts of America and was also a member of the Illinois
17Valley Leather Guild; he enjoyed woodworking, leather working,
18camping, and fishing; he cherished spending time with his
19family, especially his granddaughters; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell was a loving husband, father,
21grandfather, brother, and uncle; he was known for living life

1with a spirit of generosity and a love for making people happy;
2he will be remembered for having an educator's heart and for
3always being willing to teach others; he was cherished and
4deeply loved; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell was preceded in death by his
6parents; his sisters, Elaine, Lillian, and Martha; and his
7brother, Clarence Jr.; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gerald Caldwell is survived by his wife of 48
9years, Coleen; his daughters, Kimberly Rea (Nathaniel)
10Wildebuer and Jennifer Jo (Ronald Rosenbaum) Zilch; his
11granddaughters, Esther Violet and Leora Jane Wildebuer; and
12his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Gerald Allan Caldwell and extend our sincere condolences to
16his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Gerald Caldwell as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
