| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Mary "Lorraine" Bromley of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on December 13, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was born to Richard J. and | 6 | | Christina R. Van Hoorebeck in Rock Island on February 25, | 7 | | 1921; she graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1939; she | 8 | | proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE during World War II; | 9 | | she married John L. Bromley in Long Beach, California on | 10 | | August 18, 1945; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley worked at the Rock Island | 12 | | Arsenal prior to entering the service; she later worked as a | 13 | | bookkeeper for private individuals; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was a member of St. Pius X | 15 | | Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic | 16 | | Church in Rock Island;
she was a blood donor for many years and | 17 | | a member of the Trinity Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary and | 18 | | Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley was preceded in death by her | 20 | | husband; her son, John M. Bromley; her sister, Rosedith | 21 | | Hawkins; and her brothers, Richard Van Hoorebeke and Francis |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Lorraine Bromley is survived by her daughters and | 3 | | sons-in-law, Carol and Lawrence Clemens, Elizabeth Berridge | 4 | | and Jim Loveless, and Kate Bromley; her daughter-in-law, | 5 | | Colleen Wiemerslage-Bromley; her granddaughter, Dr. Clara | 6 | | Berridge (Elliot Stevens); and her nieces and nephews; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Mary "Lorraine" Bromley and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 14 | | presented to the family of Lorraine Bromley as an expression | 15 | | of
our deepest sympathy.
