| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Thecla M. Keenan of Peoria, who passed | 4 | | away on June 21, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was born in LaSalle to Frederick | 6 | | and Thecla (Brida) Aaron on November 7, 1931; she married | 7 | | William H. Keenan at St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria on October | 8 | | 16, 1954; she earned her Registered Nurse certification; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan worked as a surgical nurse at OSF | 10 | | St. Francis Medical Center for 44 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was a member of St. Bernard's | 12 | | Catholic Church in Peoria; she loved golfing at Timberlake | 13 | | Club of Peoria; she crocheted countless infant blankets for | 14 | | the OSF Children's Hospital; she enjoyed spending time with | 15 | | her family and shopping with her cousin, Helen Gallagher; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was preceded in death by her | 17 | | daughters, Theresa Simmons and Kathleen Wukitsch, and her | 18 | | brothers, Joseph Aaron and Thomas Aaron; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan is survived by her husband of over | 20 | | 66 years, William H. Keenan; her sons, Tim (Lesley) Keenan and |
