| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Jerry Lee Hoyle of Milan, who passed | 4 | | away on November 28, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle was born in Avon on September 23, | 6 | | 1950; he was raised in Rock Island; he graduated from Rock | 7 | | Island High School in 1968; he served as a sergeant in the 3rd | 8 | | Battalion 11th Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from | 9 | | 1969 to 1970, where he operated the M113 armored personnel | 10 | | carriers during the Vietnam War; he married Connie Heinrich in | 11 | | October 1971, and she preceded him in death in July 2002; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for | 13 | | 33 years; he was deployed as a civilian contractor to Kuwait | 14 | | and Iraq for the Department of Defense; he retired in 2006; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle was a member of the Milan Rifle Club | 16 | | and Milan American Legion Post 569; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle was an avid turkey hunter, and he | 18 | | enjoyed visiting Wyoming to hunt antelope; in his earlier | 19 | | years, he enjoyed fishing and participated in many bass | 20 | | tournaments; he also enjoyed restoring antique tractors; he | 21 | | loved traveling to South Dakota and Wyoming and visiting |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Jerry Hoyle was | 3 | | survived by his special friend, Beverly Wassenhove; his | 4 | | sister, Brenda Cassini; his grandson, Josh (Emmie) Whitmore; | 5 | | his great-grandsons, Henry and Owen Lee; his nieces, Ann, | 6 | | Amber, Jill, and Katherine; his nephews, Nicholas and Joseph; | 7 | | his brothers-in-law, Paul (Chris) Heinrich and Joe (Shelley) | 8 | | Heinrich; his sister-in-law, Judy Heinrich; and his best | 9 | | friend, Fred Hofmann; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Jerry Lee Hoyle and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
