SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David "Dave" "Rocko" Lynn Rochester of Virginia, Illinois, who passed away on August 17, 2021; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester was born to Paul E. and Edna M. DeShasier Rochester in White Hall on May 4, 1948; he married Nancy J. Hatfield Zimmer in Virginia, Illinois on September 24, 1999; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester worked for CASSCOMM in Virginia, Illinois for many years; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester served as a volunteer firefighter with the Virginia Fire Department for 34 years; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester enjoyed woodworking and playing golf; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Rochester is survived by his wife; his children, Gena (Atwood) Huff, David P. (Chrissy) Rochester, and Jody (Brad) Racey; his two stepdaughters, Holly (Tom) Lannon and Chrissy (Ryan Hitt) Zimmer; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Bob Rochester; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of David "Dave" "Rocko" Lynn Rochester and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Rochester as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
