| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert N. Ramsdale of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on September 21, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Ramsdale was born to William N. and Viola | 6 | | Schultz Ramsdale in Rock Island on May 2, 1928; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Navy, where he sailed on the U.S.S. Purdy DD-734; he | 8 | | married Donna Mae Karr in Rock Island on March 26, 1954, and | 9 | | she preceded him in death on September 16, 2015; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Ramsdale worked as a rolling mill operator | 11 | | at Nichols Home Shield in Davenport, Iowa for 43 years; he | 12 | | retired in 1993; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Ramsdale was an avid golfer; he played in | 14 | | the first Quad Cities Open Golf Tournament in 1971 and took | 15 | | first place in 17 consecutive Nichols Golf Tournaments; he | 16 | | also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and watching the | 17 | | Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Robert Ramsdale was preceded in death by his | 19 | | wife; his parents; his sisters, Mary Dorman and Betty | 20 | | Carstens; and his son-in-law, Mick Verschorre; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Robert Ramsdale is survived by his children, | 2 | | Vicki Verschorre, Rev. William (Wendy) Ramsdale, Nan Wright, | 3 | | and Jan Kidwell; his 13 grandchildren; and his nine | 4 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Robert N. Ramsdale and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Robert Ramsdale as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
