| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Michael T. "Mike" Green of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on November 17, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green was born to Wayne and Helen (Taylor) | 6 | | Green in Monmouth on January 5, 1947; he grew up in Roseville; | 7 | | he graduated from Roseville High School in May 1965; he served | 8 | | in the U.S. Army, including a yearlong tour in Vietnam; he | 9 | | married Marcia K. Lewis in Moline on October 14, 1972; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green began his law enforcement career | 11 | | working at the Rock Island County Jail; he was sworn in as a | 12 | | deputy of the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department in 1970; | 13 | | he served as lieutenant in charge of warrant division, jail | 14 | | administrator, and under sheriff; he retired as sheriff in | 15 | | 1990; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green then served as the public safety | 17 | | manager at the Quad City International Airport until 2000; he | 18 | | finished his career of public service as a court security | 19 | | officer with the U.S. Marshal's Service until he was diagnosed | 20 | | with prostate cancer from Agent Orange; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green was a longtime member of the Holy |

| 1 | | Cross Lutheran Church in Moline and served on the Board of | 2 | | Elders; he was also a member of Vietnam Veterans of America | 3 | | Chapter 299; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green was preceded in death by his parents; | 5 | | his brother, Gary; and his brother-in-law, Greg Allison; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Mike Green is survived by his wife, Marcia; his | 7 | | children, Michele Green (Tony Vondracek) and Nathan (Jill) | 8 | | Green; his grandchildren, Dane, Sam, Will, Miles, Bella, | 9 | | Celia, and Olivia; his sister-in-law, Melinda Green; his | 10 | | in-laws, Vicki and Tony Hamilton, Greg and Kathy Lewis, and | 11 | | Mark and Sue Lewis; and his many nieces and nephews; | 12 | | therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Michael T. "Mike" Green and extend our sincere condolences to | 16 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 17 | | further
