| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph "Joe" R. Reading of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on December 6, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading was born to Joseph Roy Gordon and | 6 | | Ella Eloise Reading in Rock Island on October 20, 1941; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Army; he married Marsha Tucker in Rock | 8 | | Island in 1966; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading worked in the power house of John | 10 | | Deere Inc., retiring after 31 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading was a member and head deacon at New | 12 | | Birth Victory Temple, Rock Island; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading enjoyed cooking, fishing, and doing | 14 | | handiwork around the house; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading was preceded in death by his parents | 16 | | and his grandson, Marcus Kelly; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Joe Reading is survived by his children, Kimberly | 18 | | A. Cooper, Marilyn A.
(Charles) McCauley, and Angela R. | 19 | | Reading; his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; |

| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 4 | | Joseph "Joe" R. Reading and extend our sincere condolences to | 5 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 6 | | further
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 8 | | presented to the family of Joe Reading as an expression of our | 9 | | deepest sympathy.
