| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Clarence Edward "Ed" Brummett of | 4 | | Jacksonville, who passed away on April 26, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was born to Milford Collier and | 6 | | Bertha Lee Brummett in Lynnville on July 17, 1924; he served as | 7 | | a sergeant in the Anti-Tank Company, 330th Infantry, | 8 | | Thunderbolt Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, | 9 | | where he was involved in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle | 10 | | of the Bulge, with one and a half years of combat; he married | 11 | | Ruby Phyllis Francis on October 5, 1946, and they resided in | 12 | | Jacksonville for most of their lives before she preceded him | 13 | | in death on August 14, 2016; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett made his living as an Over the Road | 15 | | (OTR) semi truck driver; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was preceded in death by his wife of | 17 | | 69 years, Ruby Phyllis, and his siblings, Francis Loomis, | 18 | | Margaret Brummett, Nola Dehlin, John Brummett, and Wendell | 19 | | Brummett; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was the father of Janet Townslay | 21 | | (Bill), Bob Brummett (Karrie), Tammy Whewell (David Wiswell), |

| 1 | | and Cathy Wilson (Kenny); the grandfather of Tonya Pinkerton, | 2 | | Terri Reszka, Jeff Brummett, Alexis Brummett, Casey | 3 | | Fallgatter, TJ Smith, Josh Roach, Zach Roach, Justin Wilson, | 4 | | and Cole Wilson; and the great-grandfather of Max Pinkerton, | 5 | | Levi Pinkerton, Carter Pinkerton, Quentin Meyer, Mia Reszka, | 6 | | Declan Brummett, Delaney Brummett, Bohannon Fallgatter, Graham | 7 | | Smith, Westin Roach, Hayden Roach, Gunner Roach, Maverick | 8 | | Roach, Hunter Six, Alexia Wilson, and Dylann Hayes; therefore, | 9 | | be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Clarence Edward "Ed" Brummett and extend our sincere | 13 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 14 | | him; and be it further
