| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Jacqueline Debra "Jackie" Hollie | 4 | | Rayburn of Mahomet, who passed away on November 6, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn was born to RB and Imogene Hollie | 6 | | at home in Hornbeak, Tennessee on May 4, 1953; she was raised | 7 | | in Union City, Tennessee; she married Jim Rayburn on May 3, | 8 | | 1975; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the | 9 | | University of Tennessee at Martin in 1975, where she served as | 10 | | a proud president of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority; she later | 11 | | earned her Master of Education from the University of Illinois | 12 | | in 1996; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn poured her heart and soul into | 14 | | teaching others, specifically junior high math and science for | 15 | | over 36 years, which included teaching in Rantoul for one | 16 | | year, Tolono for seven years, and Mahomet-Seymour for 28 | 17 | | years; she was the favorite teacher of countless students, and | 18 | | she continued to be a devout member of the Sub-List for | 19 | | Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School until May 2022; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn spent her favorite days soaking up | 21 | | the sun and walking the beach with her best friends, shopping | 22 | | for treasures at antique markets and garage sales, gardening |

| 1 | | the most beautiful flowers on D Street, playing cards with | 2 | | lifelong friends, cheering for her Bulldogs in the bleachers | 3 | | of every sporting event, and reading a good book in her egg | 4 | | chair; her favorite place on Earth was her front porch; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn's greatest joy in life was her | 6 | | family; she was the life partner and list-maker extraordinaire | 7 | | to her husband; she was a best friend to her daughters; she was | 8 | | the biggest cheerleader for her grandchildren, who | 9 | | affectionately called her "Nana"; she will be remembered for | 10 | | her smile and for possessing a light within her that rivaled | 11 | | the sunshine itself; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn was preceded in death by her | 13 | | brother, Larry Hollie; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Jackie Rayburn is survived by her husband of 47 | 15 | | years, Jim; her daughters, Jamie (Andy) Pruitt, Jessica | 16 | | (Kevin) Dyer, and Jennifer (Mike) Soderlind; her | 17 | | grandchildren, Adam, Lucas, Eli Jackson, and Henry Dyer, Chloe | 18 | | Jaclyn, Ryan, and Paige Pruitt, and Knox and Hollie Soderlind; | 19 | | her sister, Dianne Thomason; her nieces and nephews, Kim | 20 | | Fulcher, Mike King, Mark King, and their families; and her | 21 | | sweet puppy, Scout; therefore, be it
