SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2310/2310-438 new

    Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Public Health to establish women's health clinics throughout the State to provide affordable health care for women. Requires the services provided at the women's health clinics to be offered at an affordable price and to include specified services, including women's health examinations, pregnancy confirmation, prenatal care, labor and delivery services, postpartum care, family planning examinations and birth control services, and care for sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
5Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6amended by adding Section 2310-438 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2310/2310-438 new)
8    Sec. 2310-438. Women's health clinics. The Department
9shall establish women's health clinics throughout the State to
10provide affordable health care for women. The services
11provided at the women's health clinics shall be offered at an
12affordable price and shall include, but not be limited to, the
13following:
14        (1) annual women's health examinations, including Pap
15    tests and breast examinations;
16        (2) pregnancy confirmation services;
17        (3) prenatal care, including ultrasound examinations;
18        (4) labor and delivery services provided by an
19    obstetrician;
20        (5) postpartum care and support;
21        (6) family planning examinations and birth control
22    services;
23        (7) examinations, care, and prescriptions for sexually

1    transmitted diseases and infections;
2        (8) doulas and childbirth consultants, with fees set
3    on a sliding scale based on the patient's income; and
4        (9) free childbirth education and breastfeeding and
5    parenting support offered on-site.
