    Amends the School Code. Provides that student identification cards shall also provide contact information for the Safe2Help Illinois helpline. Effective July 1, 2023.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Sections
510-20.76 and 34-18.67 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.76)
7    Sec. 10-20.76. Student identification; suicide prevention
8information; Safe2Help Illinois helpline. Each school district
9shall provide contact information for the National Suicide
10Prevention Lifeline, and for the Crisis Text Line, and the
11Safe2Help Illinois helpline on the back of each student
12identification card issued by the school district. If the
13school district does not issue student identification cards to
14its students or to all of its students, the school district
15must publish this information on its website.
