AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5405

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5405 as follows:

on page 1, line 13, after "race,", by inserting "ethnicity,"; and

by replacing line 23, on page 1, through line 2, on page 2, with the following:

"(A) includes specific strategies for trial enrollment and retention of diverse participants, including, but not limited to, site location and access, sustained community engagement, and reducing burdens due to trial design or conduct, as appropriate; and"; and

on page 2, line 3, by replacing "methods recognized" with "strategies recommended"; and

on page 2, line 7, after "English", by inserting "in accordance with current federal requirements"; and

on page 2, line 9, by replacing "screening" with "recruitment and consent processes"; and

on page 2, line 12, by replacing "electronic" with "remote"; and

on page 2, line 14, after "with", by inserting "the University of Illinois Cancer Center,".
