HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Chief Phil Perlini of the
4Grayslake Police Department on the occasion of his retirement;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Perlini graduated from the Chicago
7Metropolitan Police Academy in December 1983 and the
8Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in
92001; he received a Master of Science in Organizational
10Leadership from Dominican University in 2011; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Chief Perlini has 40 years of law enforcement
12experience, beginning his career as a dispatcher in Park Ridge
13when he was 18 years old; after becoming a police officer, he
14initially served the Hoffman Estates Police Department before
15working for the Glenview Police Department for 28 years, where
16he served as a sergeant, commander, and deputy chief of
17police; he became chief of the Grayslake Police Department in
18July 2012; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Chief Perlini has also served as a part-time
20firefighter and emergency medical technician in Round Lake,
21and he is currently working with the Newport Township Fire
22Protection District; and

1    WHEREAS, Chief Perlini has held additional leadership
2positions in several law enforcement organizations, including
3as vice president of the Northern Illinois Regional Crime
4Laboratory and as president of the Lake County Major Crash
5Assistance Team; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we congratulate Chief Phil Perlini on his retirement, thank
9him for his service, and wish him all the best in his future
10endeavors; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Chief Perlini as a symbol of our respect and
13esteem.
