SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 490/235 new

Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that the 15th day of May of each year is designated as Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Awareness Day.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by adding Section 235 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/235 new)

Sec. 235. Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Awareness Day. The 15th day of May of each year is designated as Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Awareness Day to be observed throughout the State as a day to bring awareness to this genetic disease that impacts 50,000 Americans, to urge those in Illinois to support the search for a cure, and to assist those individuals and families who deal with this challenging disease on a daily basis.
