1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2862
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2862 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended
5 by adding Section 9.44 as follows:

6     (110 ILCS 205/9.44 new)
7     Sec. 9.44. In-demand job list.
8     (a) The Board, in collaboration with the Department of
9 Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Department of Employment
10 Security, shall compile, on an annual basis, a list of the most
11 in-demand jobs in this State, along with the starting salary,
12 the median salary, and the typical education level for those
13 jobs.
14     Upon request, the Department of Commerce and Economic
15 Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security shall
16 furnish data to the Board to fulfill the requirements of this

1 subsection (a).
2     (b) The Board shall make the list compiled under
3 subsection (a) available to the public on its Internet
4 website.

5     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
6 2024.".
