| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of James Peter Whitcomb of Des Plaines, | 4 | | formerly of Evanston, who passed away on January 4, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb was born to Julius and Rose | 6 | | (Loizzo) Whitcomb in Evanston on July 22, 1941; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Army National Guard; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Since 1982, James Whitcomb was a board member of | 9 | | the Des Plaines History Center; during this time, he served as | 10 | | the organization's president, vice president, and secretary; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb was preceded in death by his | 13 | | parents; his brother, John Whitcomb; and his sister, Geraldine | 14 | | Rhein; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, James Whitcomb is survived by his wife of 40 | 16 | | years, Vickie (Therrien) Whitcomb; his son, James P. (Rachel) | 17 | | Whitcomb Jr.; his grandchildren, Jack and Olivia Whitcomb and | 18 | | Alex Booker; and his brothers, Thomas and Charles; therefore, | 19 | | be it

| 1 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

| 5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 6 | | presented to the family of James Whitcomb as an expression of
