| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Hazel (Boesdorfer) Golden of | 4 | | Petersburg, who passed away on April 18, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Hazel Golden was born to William J. Boesdorfer | 6 | | and Mary Schmidt on November 7, 1926; she was raised in | 7 | | Salisbury and was a member of the Farmingdale/Pleasant Plains | 8 | | Lutheran Church; she graduated from Pleasant Plains High | 9 | | School in 1944; she married Edward Golden on October 29, 1960, | 10 | | and they raised three children; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Hazel Golden lived a full life of service to her | 12 | | community, church, and family; she was a member of the Beta | 13 | | Sigma Phi Sorority for over 70 years, socialized with the | 14 | | Rural Youth/3rd Saturday Night Group for over 60 years, and | 15 | | served as leader of the Rock Creek 4-H Club for over 30 years; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Hazel Golden was an active member of the Rock | 18 | | Creek Presbyterian Church for 63 years, participating in the | 19 | | annual chicken supper and church bazaar; she was also | 20 | | instrumental in raising funds for the church expansion; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Hazel Golden is survived by her husband of 62 |

| 1 | | years, Edward; her children, Eric (Deedee), Vincent, and | 2 | | Marjorie; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and | 3 | | two great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Hazel (Boesdorfer) Golden and extend our sincere condolences | 7 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | 8 | | it further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Hazel Golden as an expression of our | 11 | | deepest sympathy.
