| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Thomas Ray "Tom" North of Hamilton, | 4 | | who passed away on May 1, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tom North was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Harold | 6 | | "Doc" and Elise Monroe North on October 1, 1946; he graduated | 7 | | from New London High School in New London, Iowa in 1964; he | 8 | | served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was | 9 | | awarded a Purple Heart; he married Ann Whalen at St. Peter's | 10 | | Catholic Church in Keokuk on March 30, 1968; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Tom North was employed by IBEW Local 13 as an | 12 | | electrician for 58 years, retiring in 2012; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Tom North was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 14 | | Church in Hamilton; he enjoyed spending time outdoors, | 15 | | boating, scuba diving, and golfing; he was an avid fan of the | 16 | | Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Green Bay Packers; his | 17 | | grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved to watch | 18 | | them grow, enthusiastically supporting all of their | 19 | | activities; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Tom North was preceded in death by his parents | 21 | | and his son-in-law, Mike Lamm; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Tom North is survived by his wife, Ann; his | 2 | | daughter, Tracey Lamm; his son, Brandon North (Sheryl | 3 | | Goodhue); his grandchildren, Ethan Lamm, Katlyn North, Raeann | 4 | | Lamm, Abby North, and Olivia North; his great-grandchild, | 5 | | Brielle; and his sister, Jane (Dan) Glasgow; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Thomas Ray "Tom" North and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Tom North as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
