| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Stuart G. McKneight of Pekin, who | 4 | | passed away on September 4, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was born to Gibson and Esther | 6 | | (Olson) McKneight in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 24, | 7 | | 1933; he served in the U.S. Army; he earned his bachelor's | 8 | | degree in mechanical engineering from the University of | 9 | | Minnesota in 1956; he married Ulla Lindenfelser in East Peoria | 10 | | on June 22, 1958, and she preceded him in death on August 13, | 11 | | 2003; he later married Mary Jean Nauman in Kickapoo on October | 12 | | 1, 2005; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight worked as a service engineer and | 14 | | manager with Caterpillar Inc. for over 40 years before | 15 | | retiring in 1997; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was a member of the East Peoria | 17 | | First United Methodist Church for over 66 years, where he | 18 | | volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, served as chairman of | 19 | | the Administration Board and the Board of Trustees, and | 20 | | participated in various other committees and activities; he | 21 | | was also a past president of the Peoria Knife and Fork Club; | 22 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Stuart McKneight is survived by his wife; his | 4 | | children, Brian (Stacy) McKneight, Laura (Steve) Hart, and | 5 | | Paul (Laura) McKneight; his grandchildren, Aaron (Alma) | 6 | | McKneight, Emily (Eric) Esser, Morgan (Nick) Bonifazi, and | 7 | | Philip McKneight; and his great-grandchildren, Jayson | 8 | | McKneight, Logan McKneight, William Esser, and Thomas Esser; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Stuart G. McKneight and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
