SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Keith Edward Loe Bailey of East Moline, who passed away on November 16, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bailey was born in Moline to Horace Edward and Alise (Loe) Bailey on December 27, 1932; he graduated from United Township High School and then completed machinist training at the Moline Tool Company; he served in the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Korea for one year; after returning from Korea, he married Carol Jean Ashdown on December 2, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bailey worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for over 30 years before retiring in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bailey was a longtime member and elder at Community Christian Church (Pathway Church QCA); he collected M&M dispensers and personalized pictures out of cartoons; he was a John Wayne fan; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bailey was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis Bailey; his sister, Joyce Hook; and an infant brother; and

WHEREAS, Keith Bailey is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Alisa (Bob) Clary, Edd Bailey (Nancy Baldwin), Sharon (Tim) Snyder, and Keith Alan (Kelley) Bailey; his grandchildren, David (Katie) Clary, Jon (Mackenzie) Clary, Ann Clary, Damon (Natasha) Bailey, Avery Bailey (Hannah Koenig), Harrison Bailey, Karen (CJ) Cervantes, Danielle (Eric) Scott, Joe (Ashley) Snyder, Meredith (James) Wagner, Trevor Bailey, Parker Bailey, and Jacob Bailey; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Bailey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Keith Edward Loe Bailey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Keith Bailey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
