| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Carolyn Sue (Bock) Aaron of | 4 | | Chillicothe, who passed away on November 25, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was born to Grace and Samuel Bock | 6 | | in Galesburg on October 12, 1942; she attended Midstate | 7 | | College in Peoria; she married Paul Aaron on June 25, 1965; and | 8 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was an award-winning typist and | 9 | | stenographer; she previously worked at Caterpillar, Inc., | 10 | | where she met her husband, Paul; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was a homemaker for several years, | 12 | | raising their daughters and teaching them a number of | 13 | | subjects, including cooking, sports, and how to assist | 14 | | neighbors and the community; she returned to work in the late | 15 | | 1970s; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was active in the community, | 17 | | leading a Girl Scout troop for many years and belonging to The | 18 | | Red Hat Society in retirement; she was a member of the | 19 | | Daughters of the American Revolution for many years, through | 20 | | which she utilized her impressive organizational skills with | 21 | | the assistance of her aunt to trace their family tree as far |

| 1 | | back as the 17th century; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was an excellent bowler, making the | 3 | | news on several occasions for outstanding games; she enjoyed | 4 | | antiquing, attending auctions, and collecting; she also | 5 | | enjoyed playing softball, and she taught her daughters the | 6 | | sport and never missed an opportunity to watch them play; she | 7 | | loved decorating and baking for Christmas, including making an | 8 | | endless number of homemade cookies and chocolates; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron was preceded in death by her | 10 | | parents and her sister, Kathleen (Bock) Mustard; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Aaron is survived by her husband of 58 | 12 | | years; her brother, Carl Bock; her daughters, Nicola Aaron, | 13 | | Thecla Jolene (Mark) Parrish, and Monique (Chris) Robbins; her | 14 | | grandchildren, Yvette Onychuk, Nadia Onychuk, Brandon Parrish, | 15 | | Alexandra Parrish, Mitchell Parrish, Nicholas Robbins, and | 16 | | Natalie Robbins; and her step-grandchildren, Brien Robbins and | 17 | | Caitrin Robbins; therefore, be it | 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 20 | | Carolyn Sue (Bock) Aaron and extend our sincere condolences to | 21 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 22 | | further |
