SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Mark Wyman of Oak Park, who passed 
4away on May 12, 2023 at the age of 70; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman was born to Douglas and Barbara Wyman 
6in Detroit, Michigan on November 16th, 1952; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman attended Fenwick High School, where he 
8developed a passion for swimming; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman moved to Boca Grande, Florida where, 
10in 1978, he and a friend acquired a hotel; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman was a self-taught sailor who took many 
12sailing trips, and he was well known by many boat captains; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman would often treat loved ones to 
14unforgettable sailing trips on Lake Michigan; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman established OPRF Best Improvements, a 
16home remodeling business that has spanned three decades, 
17proudly claiming to have worked on half the homes in Oak Park; 
18and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman would dress as Santa Claus each 
2Christmas for his many nieces and nephews; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman found solace impressing loved ones 
4with culinary masterpieces in his later years; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman, despite his health challenges, 
6embraced each day smiling with his partner, Sylvia Nieves; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman leaves behind a legacy of laughter and 
8boundless love and made an enduring impact on all who knew him; 
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman will be missed by his family, many 
11friends and colleagues, and the Oak Park residents whom he 
12knew and loved; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman was preceded in death by his parents; 
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mark Wyman is survived by his son, Dylan 
16Bellisle; his partner, Sylvia Nieves; and his siblings, David 
17(Danita), Larry (the late Laura), Jim (Joy), Mary (Bruce 
18Corson), Ann (Dale Amtower), Joe (Katy), John (Allyn), and 
19Gerald (Krista) Wyman; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Mark Wyman and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Mark Wyman as an expression of our 
7deepest sympathy.
