| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express | 3 |
| their sorrow at learning of the death of Harry Fox of Godfrey, | 4 |
| who passed away on January 7, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Fox was born on December 31, 1918; his | 6 |
| parents were Theodore and Nellie (Shireman) Fox; he married | 7 |
| Ella Wood on June 25, 1940, and she preceded him in death on | 8 |
| November 16, 1985; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Fox was a veteran of the United States Army, | 10 |
| training with "C" Company, First Battalion, 103rd Glider | 11 |
| Infantry regiment at Camp Mackall, North Carolina; he completed | 12 |
| Airborne training prior to joining the 17th Airborne Division, | 13 |
| where he was stationed in England prior to his participation in | 14 |
| the Battle of the Bulge; he later joined "L" Company of the | 15 |
| 194th Glider Infantry regiment; after flying in a glider behind | 16 |
| the Rhine, he was wounded in 3 occasions; Mr. Fox was honored | 17 |
| with the Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, | 18 |
| Good Conduct Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantry | 19 |
| Badge, and 3 Battle Stars for the Ardennes, Central Europe, and | 20 |
| the Rhineland; Mr. Fox was also entitled to wear the | 21 |
| European-African Middle-Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with | 22 |
| Bronze Arrowhead and the Gliderman's Badge; and

| WHEREAS, Mr. Fox was a pipefitter at Clark Oil Company for | 2 |
| 38 years, retiring in 1981; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, He was a lifetime member of Pipefitters Local 553, | 4 |
| VFW Post 1308 in Alton, VFW Post 2859 in Wood River, the | 5 |
| American Legion in Louisiana, Missouri, the Disabled American | 6 |
| Veterans, and the Christian Church in Mozler; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Fox is survived by his daughters and | 8 |
| sons-in-law, Carole S. and Robert Klunk, Joan N. and Gary | 9 |
| Greer, and Jeannie F. and Robert Fleming; his granddaughters, | 10 |
| Michelle Brady, Rebecca Wade, Julie Krol, Lori Kampwerth, and | 11 |
| Elizabeth Price; his great-grandchildren, Alicia Brady, Kayla | 12 |
| and Hannah Wade, Jacob and Nicholas Darr, Isaiah Campbell, | 13 |
| Caroline and Mary Kathleen Price, and Amberly and Caroline | 14 |
| Krol; his brother, Kenneth Fox; and his sister, Eula Staufler; | 15 |
| he was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his | 16 |
| granddaughter, Sherri Fleming; his sister, Myrtle Peuterbaugh; | 17 |
| and his brothers, Loren, Eurban, Harold "Butch", Lloyd, and | 18 |
| Frank; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 21 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew him, the passing of Harry | 22 |
| Fox; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 2 |
| presented to the family of Harry Fox as a symbol of our sorrow | 3 |
