| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph S. "Joe" Mormino of Alton, who | 4 | | passed away on December 2, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born February 5, 1921, in Napoleonville, | 6 | | Louisiana, the son of Charles and Rosa Dipasquale Mormino; he | 7 | | married Frances Sievers on July 2, 1947, at St. Barbara's | 8 | | Catholic Church in Batchtown; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He was a World War II veteran serving with the | 10 | | United States Army 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Division; he | 11 | | retired after 20 years from the Alton Fire Department; he later | 12 | | worked for the Madison County Assessor office in Edwardsville | 13 | | for 10 years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in | 15 | | Alton, VFW Post 1308, Alton Eagles FOE No. 254, and he | 16 | | volunteered at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Alton; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS,
He was preceded in death by his parents; his | 18 | | brothers, Angelo Mormino, Ernie Mormino, and Sam Mormino; and | 19 | | his sisters, Virginia Oliver and Verna Fenton; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Mormino is survived by his wife, Frances; |

| 1 | | his sons, Joe Mormino and his wife, Joyce, and Jim Mormino and | 2 | | his wife, Lana; his grandchildren, Alison Mormino, Lara | 3 | | Mormino, and Derek Mormino; his brother, Tony and his wife, | 4 | | LaCreta Marmino; and his sister, Anna and her husband, Joe | 5 | | McCarthy; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 | | his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Mormino; and be | 9 | | it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Joseph Mormino as a symbol of our | 12 | | sincere sympathy.
