1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Anthony
4 "Bubba" Johnson of Plainfield on January 29, 2003; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was born on September 27, 1970 to
6 Arminda Triplett Johnson and Dock Jordan Jr.; he was the
7 youngest of thirteen siblings, as well as being the youngest
8 of a generation of the Triplett clan; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson attended McGehee Public School in
10 Arkansas; he later relocated to Chicago, where he attended
11 DeVry Institute of Technology; he married Glenda Givens on
12 November 7, 1999; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was a dedicated employee of Corn
14 Products; he had a passion for fishing, writing poetry,
15 drawing, speaking engagements, and reading his bible; he
16 believed in teaching his sons strong spiritual beliefs and
17 always encouraged them to do their very best and accomplish
18 their goals; and
19 WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was a mentor to his sons, and many
20 nieces and nephews; his presence always represented strength,
21 intelligence, love, and a strong sense of values; he was well
22 respected by all who knew him; and
23 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his friends
24 and family, especially his loving wife, Glenda; his three
25 sons, Dana, Anthony Jr., and Terrell; his nephew and best
26 friend, Anthony Smith; his father and mother-in-law, Willie
27 and Alma Givens; his special friend, Jamie (Buga) Tank; his
28 six maternal sisters, Donna Johnson, Brenda Johnson, Tammy
29 Johnson, Bernita (Darryl) Bedenfield, Debra Johnson, and
30 DeLoris Cokeley; his four maternal brothers, Arnim (Patricia)

13 five uncles, E.W. (Thelma) Triplett, Clarence (Clara)
14 Triplett, Herman Block, TC (Hazel) Johnson, and Bonnie
15 Johnson; and a host of other close relatives and friends; and
16 WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Arminda
17 Triplett Johnson and Dock Jordan Jr.; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
20 Anthony "Bubba" Johnson, along with all who knew and loved
21 him, and extend our sincerest condolences to his family and
22 friends; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to the family of Anthony "Bubba" Johnson with our
25 deepest sympathy.
