| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of | 4 | | Representative James "Jim" Edward Eatherly of Galatia, who | 5 | | passed away on November 17, 2020; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Jim Eatherly was born to the late Curtis Virgil | 7 | | and Nathalie Minerva (Dominguez) Eatherly in Johnston City on | 8 | | December 27, 1930; he was a brother to Mary Raica, Frank | 9 | | Eatherly, and Linda Lipps; he married Rita Joy Richey, the | 10 | | daughter of Horace and Flossie Arnold Richey, on April 30, | 11 | | 1952; he served in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne in | 12 | | White Sands, New Mexico; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jim Eatherly was a Galatia High School teacher | 14 | | and coach and served as assistant superintendent; he also | 15 | | served as a state representative in the 58th district in the | 16 | | 75th General Assembly; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jim Eatherly was a member of the Galatia First | 18 | | Baptist Church; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jim Eatherly enjoyed traveling with his wife, | 20 | | fishing, carpentering, and public speaking; he had a great | 21 | | sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand to help |

| 1 | | those in need; he deeply loved his family, friends, and | 2 | | country; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jim Eatherly is survived by his two daughters, | 4 | | Deborah Joy (Butch) Porter and April (Norman) Eatherly-Rubio; | 5 | | his five grandchildren, Natalie, Mary, James, Richey, and | 6 | | Patrick; his three step-grandchildren, Bryan, Shawn, and | 7 | | Justin; and his five great-grandchildren, Max, Ada, Gunnar, | 8 | | Dorothy, and Brooks; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 10 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 11 | | we mourn the passing of Representative James "Jim" Edward | 12 | | Eatherly and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 13 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
