| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gerald E. Schiller of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on January 4, 2017 at the age of 89; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin | 6 | | to Paul and Lillian (Stover) Schiller on August 9, 1927; he | 7 | | married Lola M. Goldman on July 4, 1952; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was a veteran, serving in the | 9 | | United States Army during the Korean War; he retired as an | 10 | | operating engineer of McHenry Sand & Gravel; he was a heavy | 11 | | equipment operator and a lifetime member of International Union | 12 | | of Operating Engineers Local 150; he was a member of the Chuck | 13 | | Wagon Riders Saddle Club, and the Woodstock Moose Lodge for | 14 | | many years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller enjoyed his home, work, horses, | 16 | | and camping; he was a loving husband, father, brother, | 17 | | grandfather, and great-grandfather; and he took great pride in | 18 | | his life, home, and family; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents, Paul and Lillian Schiller; six brothers, Raymond, | 21 | | Clifford, Glen, Dale, Larry, and Clayton; and two sisters, |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Gerald Schiller is survived by his wife, Lola | 3 | | Schiller; his children, Lamar (Nancy) Schiller, Lavern | 4 | | (Janine) Schiller, Christine (Frank) Boeckmann, and Geraldine | 5 | | (Robert) Eilert; his eight grandchildren, Jason (Rebecca) | 6 | | Boeckmann, Collin (Kelli) Boeckmann, Sheryl (John) Matthews, | 7 | | Ryan Eilert, Connor Eilert, Timothy Eilert, Olivia Schiller, | 8 | | and Liliana Schiller; his great-grandchild, Sebastian | 9 | | Boeckmann; his brother, Vern (Jean) Schiller; and his sister, | 10 | | Lorraine (the late Tom) Sheridan; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald Schiller, and | 14 | | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all | 15 | | who knew and loved him; and be it further
