| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express | 3 |
| their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Brenton | 4 |
| J. Emerick of Waukegan, who passed away on January 1, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Brenton Emerick was born on June 3, 1924, in | 6 |
| Pleasantville, Iowa; he served in the United States Navy during | 7 |
| World War II in the South Pacific; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the Elks Club, the Glen Flora | 9 |
| Country Club, the City Club of Waukegan, and the Northside | 10 |
| Athletic Club; he also played semi-pro football for the | 11 |
| Waukegan Merchants; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Brenton Emerick was president and CEO of American | 13 |
| National Bank and Trust of Waukegan and sat on numerous banking | 14 |
| boards; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary | 16 |
| Schenkenberg; and his sisters, Catherine Thompson and Dona | 17 |
| Hoff; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Brenton Emerick is survived by his loving wife of | 19 |
| 63 years, Virginia (nee Hasenohrl); his children, Alan (Peggy) | 20 |
| Emerick, Margaret (Tibor) Racz, Nancy (Ronald) Centers, Alice |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 6 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 7 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Brenton Emerick; and be | 8 |
| it further
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 |
| presented to the family of Brenton Emerick as an expression of | 11 |
| our sympathy.
