| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer | 4 | | Conrad Gary of Chicago, who was killed in the line of duty on | 5 | | December 17, 2018; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Officer Gary grew up in suburban Oak Lawn and | 7 | | graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2009; he served | 8 | | over five years in the United States Air Force and spent much | 9 | | of that time deployed in Germany; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Officer Gary wanted to make the city a better | 11 | | place and joined the Chicago Police Department in March 2017; | 12 | | at the Chicago Police Academy, he was a "go-to" person who | 13 | | helped classmates; after his training, he was assigned to the | 14 | | Calumet District and was becoming known as an officer who was | 15 | | quick to provide backup to other officers; he had a sense of | 16 | | duty that compelled him to help others; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Officer Gary was the beloved husband of Kelly | 18 | | (Kubil), the cherished father of Tess, the loving son of | 19 | | Michael and Kimberly (Evans), the dear brother of Michael Jr. | 20 | | (Stephanie) and David Gary (Carrie), the adored son-in-law of | 21 | | Daniel and Mary Kay Kubil, the caring grandson of Margaret and | 22 | | Herbert Gary and Marilyn Evans, the great-grandson-in-law of |
