| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Yeunita Verene Hunter of Chicago, who | 4 |
| passed away on January 28, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born July 30, 1954 in Chicago to Jesse Lee | 6 |
| and Mary Jean Hunter; Yeunita was the third born of seven | 7 |
| children;
Yeunita was affectionately known as "Penny" by family | 8 |
| and friends; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Penny accepted Christ under the Catholic | 10 |
| Archdioceses at an early age; she attended St. Mel Holy Ghost | 11 |
| Elementary maturing to Providence St. Mel High School; after | 12 |
| graduating from Providence in 1972, she attended Loop Junior | 13 |
| College in Chicago, earning an Associates Degree in Business | 14 |
| Administration; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, On November 30, 1974, she married the love of her | 16 |
| life, Caleb Glover, Jr.; to this union a son was born, Mathieu | 17 |
| Brycen Glover; she joined Prince of Peace Sanctified Missionary | 18 |
| Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor W. L. Upshire, | 19 |
| where she was a diligent member; she worked for the American | 20 |
| Medical Association as a Head Office Coordinator for over 30 | 21 |
| years; and

| WHEREAS, She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, | 2 |
| family member, and a devoted friend to all; Penny was always | 3 |
| full of laughter, great humor, and pizzazz; she was preceded in | 4 |
| death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Mary Jean Hunter; and two | 5 |
| brothers, Carl Joseph and Ivory Joe Hunter; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She leaves to cherish her prominent memories: A | 7 |
| loving and devoted husband, Caleb; a dear son, Mathieu; her | 8 |
| three sisters, Glenda Faye, Cheryl (Anthony), and Bobbie Jean; | 9 |
| her brother, Jesse; her loving sister-in-law, Janet; a niece | 10 |
| whom she considered her own, Devan; her four nieces, D'Nai, | 11 |
| Ericka, Dana, and Lauren; her three nephews; Mycal, Brandon, | 12 |
| and Anthony II; her one great-nephew, Aerrion; her two great | 13 |
| nieces, Dayana and Azariah; her devoted friend, Denise; her | 14 |
| mother-in-law, Carrie (Frank); her father-in-law, Caleb Sr.; | 15 |
| her sister-in-law, Floyrida; her two brothers-in-law; Albert | 16 |
| (Sherry) and Maurice (Benita); her aunt, Bessie L. Williams; | 17 |
| her three uncles; Lucious, Henry, and Counsel Hunter; her | 18 |
| awesome caretaker, Diane Smith; and a host of family and | 19 |
| friends; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 22 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Yeunita Hunter; and be | 23 |
| it further
