| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lonnie R. Skirvin of Kampsville, who | 4 | | passed away on November 29, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lonnie Skirvin was born on July 26, 1945, in | 6 | | Louisiana, Missouri, to Charles Vinton and Frances Arelene | 7 | | (Pritchett) Skirvin; he was a 1964 graduate of Pleasant Hill | 8 | | High School; he married Faith Ann Stevenson on February 10, | 9 | | 1973, in Orion; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Lonnie Skirvin served as a U.S. Marine during the | 11 | | Vietnam War; he was awarded with 2 Purple Hearts as a result of | 12 | | being critically injured in battle; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Lonnie Skirvin was a member of the Kampsville | 14 | | American Legion Post #1083 and the Pleasant Hill United | 15 | | Methodist Church; he was a life-long grain and livestock farmer | 16 | | and a 27-year member of the Calhoun County Farm Bureau Board; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lonnie Skirvin was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his sister, Phyllis K. Skirvin; his son, Steven Ray | 20 | | Skirvin; and his mother-in-law, Emma Stevenson; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lonnie Skirvin is survived by his wife, Faith; his | 2 | | children, Dena Skirvin, Craig (Ashley) Skirvin, and Ann (Shawn) | 3 | | Harshman; his sisters, Joan Myers, Ruth Ellen (Evert) Poyner, | 4 | | and Beverly Yokem; his brothers, Douglas (Dorothy) Skirvin, | 5 | | Larry (Kay) Skirvin, and Charles Skirvin; his father-in-law, | 6 | | Robert Stevenson; his grandchildren, Sarah, Grace, Allyson, | 7 | | Adelyn, Ella, and Landon; and his numerous nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Lonnie Skirvin, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
