| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Irmil H. "Monty" Montgomery of Hinsdale, | 4 | | who passed away on January 22, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born March 12, 1918, in La Harpe; he | 6 | | volunteered for service during World War II and served with the | 7 | | Army Air Corps, where he learned to teach pilots to fly with | 8 | | instruments using the Link Trainer; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, After the war he worked for Trans World Airlines | 10 | | and later started his own business, Aviation Training | 11 | | Enterprises in 1947; the business grew, with offices being | 12 | | added at the Midway, O'Hare, and DuPage Airports; the business | 13 | | later became known as ATE-American Flyers and today is known as | 14 | | American Flyers, with offices across the United States; Mr. | 15 | | Montgomery retired from the business in the 1990s; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, He was one of the founding members of the Salt | 17 | | Creek Club; he played tennis for many years; he was a member of | 18 | | the Ruth Lake Country Club and the Hinsdale Golf Club, where he | 19 | | loved to golf; he was also an avid bridge player and played | 20 | | regularly at the Graue Mill Country Condominium club house; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, He had lived at the Graue Mill Country Condominium |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Irmil Montgomery is survived by his daughter, | 3 | | Sandra (David) Hadley; his grandchildren, Todd, Jill, and Jeff | 4 | | Harrington; his brother, Arthur Montgomery; his sister, Erva | 5 | | Wilson; his nephews, Scott and Courtney Wilson; and his | 6 | | step-granddaughter, Nina Hadley; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 | | his family and friends, the passing of Irmil Montgomery; and be | 10 | | it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Irmil Montgomery as a symbol of our | 13 | | sincere sympathy.
