| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Penelope A. "Penny" Hill | 4 |
| on Monday, February 7, 2005; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was a daughter of Helen Margaret (DuHadway) | 6 |
| Thatcher and the late James Thatcher and was born on September | 7 |
| 26, 1942, in Alton; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She married M. Joseph Hill on August 21, 1965, at | 9 |
| St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Hill was a member of the Glen-Ed Right to | 11 |
| Life, Council of Catholic Women, Secular Franciscans, and the | 12 |
| Daughters of Isabella; she worked as a special education | 13 |
| teacher in St. Louis before staying home to raise her family; | 14 |
| and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Penelope A. "Penny" Hill has been | 16 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her husband, M. Joseph Hill; | 17 |
| her mother, Helen Margaret (DuHadway) Thatcher; her son, M. | 18 |
| Joseph Hill Jr.; her daughters and their husbands, Margey and | 19 |
| David Lawson, Amy and Tom Courtright, Debbie and Nathan | 20 |
| Vuagniaux, Katie and Mike Ignasiak, and Jenny and Todd | 21 |
| Nottmeier; her grandchildren, Jack, Sarah, Emma, Allison, | 22 |
| Caroline, Hailey, Emily, and Samuel; her brothers, Jay | 23 |
| Thatcher, Alan Thatcher, and Charles Thatcher; and her sister, | 24 |
| Irene Mann; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 26 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 27 |
| Penelope A. "Penny" Hill, and we extend our deepest sympathy to | 28 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 29 |
