| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
L. Eugene Striegel of Normal, who passed | 4 | | away on February 27, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was born on December 21, 1935, | 6 | | in Bloomington; he was the son of Louis E. and Catherine | 7 | | Kirkwood Striegel; he married Mary Kaye Neill on September 7, | 8 | | 1957, in Bloomington; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was a 1953 graduate of Trinity | 10 | | High School and a 1958 graduate of Florida State University; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel served his country with pride | 13 | | and distinction as a member of the United States Army; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was the founding partner of | 15 | | Striegel Knobloch and Company in Bloomington; he was also a | 16 | | board member at Commerce Bank; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was a member of Holy Trinity | 18 | | Catholic Church and Epiphany Catholic Church; he was also a | 19 | | longtime member of the Bloomington Country Club; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was an avid golfer and a | 2 | | die-hard Florida State Seminole football fan; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents and his brother, John Patrick "Jack" Striegel; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, L. Eugene Striegel is survived by his wife, Mary | 6 | | Kaye; his daughters, Teresa Striegel and Stacy Striegel; and | 7 | | his grandchildren, Henry Hickman and Lillian Hickman; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | his family and friends, the passing of L. Eugene Striegel; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of L. Eugene Striegel as an expression | 15 | | of our sympathy.
