| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Stanton Joseph "Stan" Bond of Montgomery, | 4 | | who passed away on February 13, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stan Bond was born in Turlock, California to | 6 | | Joseph and Norma Bond on July 22, 1949; he earned an | 7 | | interdisciplinary degree in advertising, marketing, and public | 8 | | relations from Southern Illinois University in 1971; while a | 9 | | student, he was on the Dean's List, and he interned for the | 10 | | City of Carbondale in the City Manager's Office; he continued | 11 | | his education in the master's program at Southern Illinois | 12 | | University and received several awards for his work, as well as | 13 | | a commendation by Mayor Neil Eckert and the City Council of | 14 | | Carbondale; at that time, he also received a citation from | 15 | | Illinois Governor Richard B. Ogilvie for his service to | 16 | | Carbondale; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Professionally, Stan Bond worked as an Assistant | 18 | | Director of Industrial Development and participated in the HUD | 19 | | Model Cities Program in Carbondale; he was also a Public | 20 | | Information Officer with the City of Carbondale and the Wabash | 21 | | Area Office of Economic Opportunity; he was an Account | 22 | | Executive with Marstellar Advertising and an Associate | 23 | | Creative Director with Ladd/Wells Advertising before moving on |

| 1 | | to become Founder and President of Hamilton and Bond | 2 | | Advertising, Inc.; he enjoyed working in this capacity for | 3 | | nearly 35 years; in more recent years, he was the Chief Deputy | 4 | | Clerk for the Kane County Clerk's Office and the Business | 5 | | Process Coordinator for the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office; | 6 | | and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Stan Bond's passion for community building led him | 8 | | to serve as an elected official in several capacities for more | 9 | | than 20 years; while living in Batavia, he served as a Trustee | 10 | | for the Batavia Public Library District and as a Precinct | 11 | | Committeeman; while living in Montgomery, he served as a | 12 | | Precinct Committeeman for Sugar Grove 2, volunteered as a | 13 | | Neighborhood Watch Area Leader, was a founding member of the | 14 | | Montgomery Foundation, and spent multiple terms as a Village of | 15 | | Montgomery Trustee; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Stan Bond valued the community relationships he | 17 | | built and the time he spent attending various community | 18 | | functions; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends | 19 | | and taking motorcycle rides in the country; he was an avid | 20 | | boater and fisherman; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Stan Bond was preceded in death by his parents; | 22 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Stan Bond is survived by his wife of 40 years, | 2 | | Marion; his daughters, Erin (Jim) Hart, Elizabeth (Chris) | 3 | | Abbott, and Sarah (Josh) Paddock; and his grandchildren, Nolan | 4 | | and Wyatt Abbott and Max Hart; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Stanton Joseph "Stan" Bond and extend our sincere condolences | 8 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 9 | | it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Stan Bond as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
