| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Irene E. Lubeck, formerly of Waukegan and | 4 | | North Chicago, who passed away on February 10, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lubeck was born to Dujo and Petronella | 6 | | (Cernich) Babich on August 22, 1927; she graduated from | 7 | | Waukegan High School and married Henry "Hank" Lubeck at Mother | 8 | | of God Church in 1948; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lubeck and Hank owned and operated the | 10 | | Golden Spoon Restaurant in Waukegan; Irene also operated a | 11 | | beauty salon and was a hair dresser for her friends; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lubeck enjoyed square dancing and bingo; she | 13 | | and Hank were active in Knights of Columbus #731, Rygiel's | 14 | | Social Club, Nicks Social Club, and Holy Rosary and Mother of | 15 | | God Churches; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lubeck was preceded in death by her husband | 17 | | of 42 years, Hank; her parents; her sisters, Anne Guenther, | 18 | | Jeannie Katalinich, and Rose Ogrin; and her brother, Mike | 19 | | Babich; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lubeck is survived by her children, Mike |

| 1 | | (Karen), Larry (Lynne), James, and Nancy (Jim) Christian; her | 2 | | grandchildren, Brent (Michele) Lubeck, Christopher (Kristy) | 3 | | Lubeck, Stephanie (Jerry) Hickman, Jimmy Abear, Steve Lubeck, | 4 | | and Jay Christian; and her great-grandchildren, Emersen, | 5 | | Quinn, Nina, Luke, and Leo; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Irene E. Lubeck and extend our sincere condolences to her | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
