| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of H. Ann Schultz of Lake Forest, who passed | 4 | | away on December 19, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was born in Sidney, Iowa to Harley and | 6 | | Margaret (Bayes) Stevesson on January 16, 1925; she grew up on | 7 | | the family farm enjoying riding horses with her sister Mary | 8 | | Margaret; horses remained close to her heart throughout her | 9 | | life; after graduating from Malvern High School, she went on to | 10 | | Iowa State University, receiving her degree in Home Management; | 11 | | it was at a Tri Delta - Kappa Sigma dance where she met her | 12 | | beloved husband, Carl Schultz, and they married on June 6, | 13 | | 1948; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schultz and her husband raised their two | 15 | | children in Lake Bluff, where they resided for 55 years; she | 16 | | was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and | 17 | | great-grandmother; she loved her family, home, garden, and many | 18 | | friends; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was a talented needlepointer, | 20 | | creating many beautiful pieces; for over 30 years, she was an | 21 | | active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest | 22 | | and served on many committees; she was also a master bridge |

| 1 | | player and she and Carl played bridge well into their 80s; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schultz was recently preceded in death by her | 3 | | husband, Carl; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schultz is survived by her son, Mark (Diane); | 5 | | her daughter, Julia (Steve) Simon; three grandchildren, | 6 | | Melissa Coker, Sara (Chris) McIntosh, and Jennifer (Auston) | 7 | | Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Allie McIntosh; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | H. Ann Schultz, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Ann Schultz as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
