| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth R. "Ken" Brady of Wheeling, who | 4 | | passed away on February 23, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Brady was born in Chicago in 1941; he | 6 | | graduated from Gordon Tech High School in 1959; he attended | 7 | | Washburn Trade School, where he specialized in carpentry and | 8 | | received his Journeyman's Certificate in 1965; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ken Brady worked as a construction project manager | 10 | | prior to his retirement; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ken Brady sought public office to help set the | 12 | | course for Wheeling's future and was elected to the Board of | 13 | | Trustees in April 2005; prior to that, he served on the Plan | 14 | | Commission for 17 years, including a period of time as | 15 | | chairman; as chairman, he helped implement beautification | 16 | | projects that added landscaping throughout the village and | 17 | | brick pavers to the narrow parkways and initiated the push to | 18 | | upgrade the village's comprehensive plan and zoning | 19 | | ordinances; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ken Brady was a member of St. Joseph the Worker | 21 | | Catholic Church and served as Grand Knight for the Knights of |

| 1 | | Columbus Regina Council #4837; he was a also a member of the | 2 | | Carpenter's Union Local #181, Wheeling Helping Hands, where he | 3 | | helped organize the pig roast and golf outing, the Wheeling | 4 | | Garden Club, and the Wheeling Historical Society; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Brady was the beloved husband of 54 years of | 6 | | Christine (Mleko) Brady, the loving father of Kathy Brady, | 7 | | Cyndi Brady, and Cheryl (Carlos) Brady-Restrepo, the fond | 8 | | brother of the late Bernie (Terry) Brady, the cherished | 9 | | brother-in-law of the late Barbara and William Weder, the | 10 | | second father of Rick (Cindy) Weder, the cousin and uncle of | 11 | | many, and the great-uncle of Telis and Niko; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Kenneth R. "Ken" Brady and extend our sincere condolences to | 15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
