| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Geraldine C. Germain (nee Coote) of Palos | 4 | | Hills, who passed away on January 30, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was born on March 7, 1921; she | 6 | | married Charles W. Germain Sr.; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain worked as a certified medical | 8 | | assistant; she was a member of the Illinois Society of Medical | 9 | | Assistants, serving them as State treasurer and State | 10 | | president; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain enjoyed birds, flowers, | 12 | | reading, and cooking; she was known to be a good listener who | 13 | | cared for people and was always available for those who had a | 14 | | problem; she often spoke of her family and would ask others | 15 | | about how their families were doing; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain touched the lives of many and | 17 | | always had a smile on her face; acts of kindness, such as a | 18 | | handmade bear, were the hallmark of her personality; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Germain was preceded in death by her | 20 | | husband of 72 years, Charles; and

| 4 | | grandchildren, Rene Germain McFadden, Deanna Rae McFadden | 5 | | (Chris Welch), Michael
Charles Germain (Marcia), and Kristin | 6 | | Anne Engberg (Scott); and her great-grandchildren,
Samantha | 7 | | Engberg, Charles Michael Germain, Ian Welch, and Ryan Welch; | 8 | | and many nieces and
nephew; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Geraldine Germain, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Geraldine Germain as an expression | 16 | | of our deepest sympathy.
