| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Dennis D. Root of Reynolds, who passed | 4 | | away on April 25, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Root was born to Lloyd "Bud" and Dorothy | 6 | | (Hines) Root in Exira, Iowa on June 16, 1945; he married Marie | 7 | | Walline in 1966, and they later separated; he married Amy | 8 | | Davis in Cambridge, Illinois on July 18, 1987; he served in the | 9 | | U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Root worked for Farmall until their | 11 | | closing and then transferred to Navistar in Springfield, Ohio | 12 | | until his retirement in 1995; after retirement, he and Amy | 13 | | moved back to Reynolds, and he worked part time at Farm and | 14 | | Fleet, Honda, and O'Reilly Auto Parts; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Root loved mowing the yard and playing | 16 | | Scrabble with his mother-in-law, Pat; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Root was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his brothers, Gary, Ronald, and infant brother, David Root; | 19 | | and his father-in-law, Errol Davis; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Root is survived by his wife, Amy Root; |

| 1 | | his children, Brian (Cindy) Root, Kevin Root, and Ashley | 2 | | (Derek) Reed; his grandchildren, Ezra, Ethan, and Evan Root | 3 | | and Simmi Sue Reed; his mother-in-law, Pat Englund; and his | 4 | | numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Dennis D. Root and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Dennis Root as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
