| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edward Frank Lewakowski of McHenry, who | 4 | | passed away on January 16, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was born on December 21, 1932 in | 6 | | Chicago; his parents were John Z. and Irene (nee Lasecki) | 7 | | Lewakowski; he married Georgette N. (nee Grasser) Calcese on | 8 | | December 31, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was raised in Chicago and was a | 10 | | summer resident of McHenry for many years; he became a | 11 | | year-round resident of McHenry in the 1970s; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski served his country as a member | 13 | | of the United States Army during the Korean War; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski enjoyed a long career as an | 15 | | officer with the Berwyn Police Department; after leaving the | 16 | | department, he began Lew's Trucking in Berwyn in the early | 17 | | 1970s; he owned the company until selling it in 1977; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski enjoyed boating, golfing, and | 19 | | flying his private plane, a Cessna 172, out of the Westosha | 20 | | Airport; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was a member of Moose Lodge 691, | 2 | | Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600, the McHenry Lions Club, | 3 | | American Legion Post 491, and Polish Legion of American | 4 | | Veterans Post 188; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was preceded in death by a son, | 6 | | Anthony Calcese, and a grandson, Joseph; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski is survived by his wife of 37 | 8 | | years, Georgette; 3 children, Edward Lewakowski, Joseph | 9 | | (Cheryl) Calcese, and Candace (Brian) Opon; and a | 10 | | granddaughter, Cristy Calcese; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Frank | 14 | | Lewakowski; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Edward Lewakowski as an expression | 17 | | of our sympathy.
