| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Dolores Rolling of Chicago, who recently | 4 |
| passed away; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on January 24, 1936 to Alex and Mary | 6 |
| Carlisle in Chicago; she attended Smyth Elementary School and | 7 |
| McKinley High School; she continued her education and graduated | 8 |
| from Cortez Peters Business College; she held several jobs as a | 9 |
| secretary and retired from the Chicago Board of Education, | 10 |
| after 25 years of service; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She was baptized at an early age and later | 12 |
| attended and became a dedicated member of Christ Tabernacle | 13 |
| Missionary Baptist Church, under the ministry and leadership of | 14 |
| the late, great Reverend Milton Brunson; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, She married Maurice Watkins in 1953; to this | 16 |
| union, one child, Phyniece (Cookie), was born; later in life, | 17 |
| she was divorced, and in 1964, she met and fell in love with | 18 |
| George Rolling, Sr.; they were wed in 1973 and to their union | 19 |
| one child, Bridgett, was born; and

| WHEREAS, Preceding her in death were her mother and father, | 21 |
| Alex and Mary Carlisle; her brothers, Winston, Alex Jr., Leon, |

| and Gerald; her sisters, Myrtle and Christine; and one | 2 |
| great-grandson, Ryan; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Dolores Rolling is survived by her loving husband, | 4 |
| George; her daughters, Phyniece and Bridgett; her stepsons, | 5 |
| Greg, Henry (Hank), Curt, George Jr., and Rusty; her sisters, | 6 |
| Vicella Bonheart and Patricia Williams; her brothers, Delano | 7 |
| (Carlee) and Vincent; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Tammy | 8 |
| (LaShaun), and Winston; her great-grandchildren, Aaron, | 9 |
| Jeffery, Jashaun, Joseph, and Lashauni; and a host of nephews, | 10 |
| cousins, and extended family and friends; therefore, be it
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 12 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 13 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Dolores Rolling; and be | 14 |
| it further
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 |
| presented to the family of Dolores Rolling as a symbol of our | 17 |
| sincere sympathy.
