| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Doris M. Speaker of Richmond, who passed | 4 | | away on January 6, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Doris Speaker was born in Wilmot, Wisconsin on | 6 | | July 22, 1930 to Cyril and Elsie (nee Ehlert) Pacey; she | 7 | | graduated from Wilmot High School in 1947; she married Wion | 8 | | "Bob" Speaker on October 20, 1950 in Salem, Wisconsin; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Doris Speaker worked at the Snow White Ice Cream | 10 | | parlor in Twin Lakes; in 1950, she started working at | 11 | | Anderson's Candy Shop in Richmond; after a few years off to | 12 | | raise her children, she resumed working at Anderson's and | 13 | | continued to do so until her retirement, after 40 years, in | 14 | | December of 2004; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Doris Speaker was the unofficial social | 16 | | chairperson for her many friends from the church and community; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Doris Speaker was preceded in death by her | 19 | | parents; her husband, Bob; her grandson, Scott Meers; her 2 | 20 | | sisters, Joan Stoxen and Charlotte Haase; and her brother, | 21 | | Harold "Stub" Pacey; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Doris Speaker is survived by her daughter, Elaine | 2 | | (Ed) Meers; her son, Jim (Kathleen) Speaker; her 5 | 3 | | grandchildren, David Meers, Mike (Ashley) Meers, Sharon | 4 | | Speaker, Tanja Speaker, and Michelle (Andrew) Currier; her | 5 | | sister, Susan McRae; and her brother, Leland "Rip" Pacey; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Doris M. Speaker, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 11 | | further
