| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of David F. "Davey" Barten of Joliet, who | 4 | | passed away on March 17, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, David Barten was born in Joliet to Lester and | 6 | | Aadra (Schram) Barten on August 23, 1952; he was raised and | 7 | | educated in the Elwood/Manhattan areas and graduated from | 8 | | Joliet Township High School in 1970; he married Carol Glanek | 9 | | Forsythe on May 27, 2006; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, David Barten worked as an electrician with Union | 11 | | Local IBEW #176 and retired on September 1, 2014 after 40 years | 12 | | of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, David Barten was a member of the Southside Civic | 14 | | Club, the Chaney Club, the Croatian Cultural Club, and was a | 15 | | lifetime member of the Moran AC; in his free time, he and Carol | 16 | | enjoyed traveling, especially to Ixtapa and Ft. Myers Beach; he | 17 | | was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears; | 18 | | he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, singing | 19 | | karaoke, and drinking a good cold beer; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, David Barten was preceded in death by his parents | 21 | | and his brother, Roger Lee Barten; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, David Barten is survived by his wife, Carol; his | 2 | | son, Tim Barten; his stepsons, Brad (Dr. Eddie Santoyo) | 3 | | Forsythe and Craig (Michelle Bandyk) Forsythe; his grandson, | 4 | | Jacob Barten; his stepson, Mike Brooks, his sister, Judy (Fred) | 5 | | Van Iten; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Margie (Larry) | 6 | | Kowalski, Josie (Stan) Snyder, and Joe (Joan) Glanek; and his | 7 | | many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends; therefore, be | 8 | | it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | David F. "Davey" Barten and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
