| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gary Stewart, who passed away on February | 4 | | 12, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary Stewart was born in Chicago to Romie Taylor | 6 | | and Merlene Stewart on August 11, 1965; he attended DuSable | 7 | | High School, where he met his wife, Karen Tunstall; after | 8 | | graduating high school in 1985, he and Karen married on May 31, | 9 | | 1985; he then joined the United States Navy, where he served | 10 | | for seven years; he made his home in San Diego, California | 11 | | before moving back to the Midwest and settling in Wisconsin; in | 12 | | 2006, Gary Stewart committed to his faith and was ordained | 13 | | Deacon Gary at Now Faith Ministries; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Gary Stewart became a truck driver in 2014; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Gary Stewart will be remembered as a peacemaker | 16 | | who accepted everyone; his teasing, laugh, and the nicknames he | 17 | | created for everyone will be missed; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Gary Stewart was preceded in death by his parents; | 19 | | and his siblings, Will, Beverly, and Glenda; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Gary Stewart was a dedicated, loving, and faithful |

| 1 | | husband to Karen, the loving father of Cherie, Cherese, Gary | 2 | | Jr., and Gabriel, the grandfather of Keve'yontae, Kivea, | 3 | | Harmony, and Kalianna, the brother of Betty, Linda, Dorothy, | 4 | | Sheila, Michael, Terry, Granville, Kimberly, and Rhonda, the | 5 | | uncle of many nieces and nephews, and the brother-in-law, | 6 | | cousin, and friend to many, especially his friend since | 7 | | childhood, Otha Maylor; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Gary Stewart and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 11 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
