| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Orick M. "Corky" Nightlinger Jr. of | 4 | | Danville, who passed away on May 5, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger was born to Orick Manning and | 6 | | Mildred Winfield Nightlinger Sr. in Fairmount on July 30, | 7 | | 1934; he attended Westville High School and Utterback Business | 8 | | College; he married Dolores Shaw in Westville on July 27, | 9 | | 1958; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger served as a printing pressman | 11 | | for the University of Illinois and Danville Commercial News; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger served on the Vermilion County | 14 | | Board of Directors for 11 years and the Danville Township | 15 | | Board of Trustees for many years; he also served as a precinct | 16 | | committeeman for the Democratic Party for many years; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger attended Calvary Baptist | 18 | | Church, and he had served as a deacon and choir director at | 19 | | Edgewood Baptist Church; he previously served on the school | 20 | | board of the former Hope Christian High School; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger loved working in his yard, | 2 | | spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, | 3 | | and passionately discussing politics; he also took a great | 4 | | interest in studying family genealogy; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger was beloved for his sense of | 6 | | light and humor; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger was preceded in death by his | 8 | | brothers, Carl J. Nightlinger, Blaine Nightlinger, and Gary | 9 | | Nightlinger; his grandson, Jacob Manning Burow; his | 10 | | granddaughter, Kandi Lynn Bray; and his niece, Merry Christina | 11 | | Conrad; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Corky Nightlinger is survived by his wife, | 13 | | Dolores; his daughters, Kitty (Jay) Dangcil, Kimberly (Don) | 14 | | Nightlinger-Bray, Krystal Nightlinger, Kelly (Bill) McMasters, | 15 | | and Kerry (Troy) Rippon; his niece and his nephew, who he and | 16 | | Dolores raised, Michael Marx and Michelle Rice; his | 17 | | grandchildren, Chastity Burow-Catney, Amanda Richards, Heather | 18 | | Nightlinger, Sarah Nightlinger, Kacie Henry, and Chase Rippon; | 19 | | and nine great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
