| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald E. Rhodes of Crystal Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on February 28, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was born in Chicago to Elliott and | 6 | | Elsie (Ungeheuer) Rhodes on October 24, 1933; he was a veteran | 7 | | of the United States Army and married Carol L. Overton in | 8 | | Chicago on May 4, 1957; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes worked at ITW/Shakeproof for 35 | 10 | | years; he was an avid trumpet player, playing for over 60 | 11 | | years; he played in many groups over the years including the | 12 | | Woodstock City Band, John Guerra Band, Vito Buffalo Band, | 13 | | McHenry City Band, MCC Band, Sun City Concert Band, and the | 14 | | Sinful Saints; he also played Taps for many veterans; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was a member of the American Legion | 16 | | and a longtime member of First Congregational Church in Crystal | 17 | | Lake; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was preceded in death by his parents | 19 | | and his nephew, Raymond Moore; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes is survived by his wife, Carol; his |

| 1 | | sons, David (Janice) Rhodes, and Jeffrey (Vicky) Rhodes; his | 2 | | grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, and Thomas "TJ" Rhodes; his | 3 | | sister, Janet (Bob) Greer; and his nephew, Eddie Moore; | 4 | | therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Donald E. Rhodes, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
