| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Janice Goben of Petersburg, formerly of | 4 | | Kilbourne, who passed away on April 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Janice Goben was born in Oakford to Julius "Chub" | 6 | | and Effie Vaughn on March 24, 1934; she graduated from | 7 | | Kilbourne High School in 1952; she married Cleveland Goben in | 8 | | Kilbourne on October 14, 1955; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Janice Goben worked for the Department of | 10 | | Transportation, Highways Division, for five years; she was a | 11 | | cook in the Kilbourne Grade School cafeteria for 25 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Janice Goben was a member of the Methodist Church | 13 | | in Oakford and Kilbourne in her youth; in her later years, she | 14 | | regularly attended the Petersburg United Methodist Church; | 15 | | more than anything, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and | 16 | | great-grandchildren grow up; she was a wonderful mother, | 17 | | grandmother, and "Great-Gammy"; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Janice Goben was preceded in death by her parents; | 19 | | her sisters, Marilyn Blakeley and Shirley Daniel; and her | 20 | | brother, Jack Vaughn; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Janice Goben was | 2 | | survived by her children, Sally Cline and Dave (Vicki) Goben; | 3 | | her granddaughters, Abbey (Ben) Venturini and Hayley Cline and | 4 | | Patience and Caroline Goben; her great-granddaughters, Tessa | 5 | | and Nina Venturini; her identical twin sister, Joyce | 6 | | Atterberry; her brother Roger (Judi) Vaughn; her many nieces | 7 | | and nephews; and her dog, Mario; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Janice Goben and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 11 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Janice Goben as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
